SDKs for Android, iOS and Web are available for free developer access.
The location APIs available on the platform include turn by turn routing using OSRM, forward and reverse geocoding using pelias supporting multiple Indian languages, and vector tiles.
Ola Maps usage of OSM data
Ola Maps makes use of OSM as one of the data sources currently for the Indian subcontinent. OSM data is used for the road network, traffic signs and signals, buildings, natural features, landuse polygons and some POIs.
Ola Maps can be explored online, via the Ola Cabs mobile app or on a Ola vehicle.
Ola Map contributions to OSM data
Ola would like to be a part of the OSM community to help enrich map data. Ola contributes to OSM in many ways, making approved data edits in OSM, focusing on adding missing roads, adjusting road alignment as per imagery and GPS traces, and cities might be revisited based on new improvements and or internal requirements.
The contributions from the Ola mapping team can be reviewed on OSMCha using the #ola changes filter.
Mapping Guidelines
The primary focus of OSM edits is data enrichment. Along with OSM data, various imagery sources are used - both collected and sourced - to help map the geography accurately.
