Proposal
Add a label to any Points of Sales that will show whether cash is accepted or not.
Nodes like shops, restaurants, petrol pumps, hotels will have an added label "Cash_accepted" With the options Yes and No
Rationale
In the western society where the acceptance of Cash money is waning, and point of sales become 'card-only', insight into where one can and can't pay with cash is more and more desired. For those who value privacy and fear record-keeping of every single purchasethey do, the use of cash in every day life is important.
This tag will allow the cash-community to map the acceptance of cash money at the places they visit. The next step is to create a website that depicts this feature, (Like sunders.uber.space does for CCTV).
Label name
Cash_accepted
Tagging
The only two options required are "Yes" and "No".
(There are Point of Sales that do accept, but with much hesitation, but it is not worth creating a "Maybe" option for as it would cause confusion).
Examples
All Points of Sales:
Shops, restaurants, bars, cafes, petrol pumps, hotels, trainststions, theatres, cinima's
Rendering
N.a. (I think).
Features/Pages affected
Sorry, I have no idea.
External discussions
I came up with this idea myself, saw no discussion about it so far and also there is no proposal like it. (The one that comes closest is the proposal about keeping track of whether ATMs accept or give out cash or coins, but that is not related to this proposal).
Comments
As is apparent, I'm unexperienced in wording a proposal like this correctly in terms of Nodes / Tags / Labels / Options. Any assistance is welcome. Please go ahead and modify this proposal to reflect the correct items like Labels, Options and/or Tags. The objective of this proposal is clear. Thank you.
I hope the proposal will be accepted, after which I will proceed to setting up a map service that visually shows the cash-accepting and cash-avoiding points of sales. And mobilise the 'cash is king community' to crowd-populate it.
