Intro
This proposal is a revival with some adaptations of a previously proposed but not finalised Proposed_features/scuba_diving. This proposition should deprecated the old sport=diving and the old shop=dive by sport=scuba_diving and shop=scuba_diving ( that has more occurrances in the database anyway).
Proposal
This proposal is split in several kinds of things :
- Indoor / outdoor Diving Spots
- Diving Center
- Diving shop attributes
Rationale
Finding a dive spot is not always easy if you don't know them. An old quarry, a beach specially designed for divers. This proposition also aims to distinguish clearly cliff diving and scuba diving. it's the reason why the tag sport=diving doesn't fit. In addition, sport=diving only has 59 objects in the DB and scuba_diving has more than 2200.
Since sport=scuba_diving is a non-physical tag, it should be combined with other (physical) tags, describing specific attributes of a dive spot. Therefore a namespace scuba_diving:*=* and a key scuba_diving=* respectively are proposed.
To mark a dive-center amenity=dive_center and to mark a dive-shop shop=scuba_diving are proposed.

Dive Spot
To distinguish between a dive spot and scuba_diving related things you can add the tag scuba_diving:divespot=* (yes or a description of the type of spot)
Here is a set of additional tags you can use to describe a dive spot
- depth=* The typical depth of the spot (where you can find attractions, ...)
- maxdepth=* Maximale depth
- fee=*
Dive Center / Shop / Service
Here is a set of additional tags you can use to describe a dive center or shop.

- scuba_diving:repair=yes if the center can fix equipment.
