Tools for this tag |
|
This tag indicates the presence of a ladder, mapped as property of a feature. Originally it was voted for ladders on hiking trails in mountainous areas where dangerous or difficult sections are secured by technical means like steel cables, fixed ropes, ladders, or rungs, where the tag indicates the presence of a ladder, but the tag is now also used for hunting stands, giant furniture, and generally any other feature providing a ladder.
To map the ladder on its own, use highway=ladder.
How to map
Main tag
Use ladder=yes to indicate that a particular object has a ladder.
Key | Value | Element | Description | Example |
---|---|---|---|---|
ladder | yes | The feature has a ladder |
On Hiking Paths / Via Ferrata
This tag was originally invented for hiking trails, but this use is now discouraged in favour of highway=ladder. It can however still be used in combination with highway=via_ferrata to mark sections which feature ladders.
