Streets Quality Control Issues

The following topics were issues that arose while I was cross checking data from the SISTEMI_I_ADRESAVE_BASHKIA_SHKODER_08.03.10.pdf file with data derived from several other sources. I was working on the assumption that the SISTEMI_I_ADRESAVE_BASHKIA_SHKODER_08.03.10.pdf is authoritative and entered in OSM where there were conflicts.

The other sources of data were 1) the list of streets that originally appeared on the front page of this wiki topic, 2) data presented in shkodraInYourPocket.pdf and 3) data presented in http://xhema.flossk.org:8080/mapdata/03/SkoderCityMap/tiles/

If you have information regarding the following control issues, please either add it below, or make the appropriate correction to the streets page and/or OSM data base.

Streets with multiple ways

There are some streets that the digitizers have interpreted as having multiple branches and have been captured as multiple ways in OSM. I don't know if this is the correct way to handle this type of situation, so I am listing these streets in this section:

Rruga Gurazezeve

This street is ok. It is a dead end, and therefore has the same name for a branch.

Rruga Kuklej

This is ok, a dead end.

Not found in OSM

The following names were listed in the original Wiki streets page, but were not found in OSM:

Lagja (Lagjia)

The following names were listed in the original Wiki streets page, but not found in OSM associated with the term Lagja (Lagjia).

Other Issues

intersection with no name

• The boundary between these two streets is not defined on SISTEMI_I_ADRESAVE_BASHKIA_SHKODER_08.03.10.PDF

Rruga Mehmet Gjyli (https://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/54393802)

• the southeast end of this street is not correctly positioned.

Rruga Golemit (https://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/34945406 etc.)

• The north end of this Rruga is probably incorrect.

Rruga Taip Shkodra (https://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/58572904)

• This Rruga runs to the edge of the map on SISTEMI_I_ADRESAVE_BASHKIA_SHKODER_08.03.10.pdf and does not have a connection with the rest of the street network.

Rruga Kerpallej (https://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/79504923 etc.)

• This Rruga runs to the edge of the map on SISTEMI_I_ADRESAVE_BASHKIA_SHKODER_08.03.10.pdf and does not have a connection with the rest of the street network.

Rruga Xhelil Mehmet Fishta (https://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/79213824 etc) and Rruga e Bisht Iqindise (https://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/79504581 etc.)

• The intersection of these two streets is not defined on SISTEMI_I_ADRESAVE_BASHKIA_SHKODER_08.03.10.pdf. I chose the division arbitrarily, and it is almost certainly incorrect.

Rruga Çun Mula (https://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/77888800) and Rruga Zana e Malit (https://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/changeset/5803679)

• The intersection of these two streets is not defined on SISTEMI_I_ADRESAVE_BASHKIA_SHKODER_08.03.10.pdf. I chose the division arbitrarily, and it is almost certainly incorrect.

Ura e Rrjollit (located beyond the extent of SISTEMI_I_ADRESAVE_BASHKIA_SHKODER_08.03.10.pdf)

This is a point feature in OSM, which is probably not appropriate, as, I believe, Ura means bridge.

Ura e Bahçallëkut

This feature appeared twice in OSM, once with this spelling and once spelled ura e Bahçallekut (without the diacritical over the e). On the SISTEMI_I_ADRESAVE_BASHKIA_SHKODER_08.03.10.pdf map it seems that there is no diacritical over the e, but it may have been covered by the yellow line as seems to be the case of the tail on the c. I chose to use the Bahçallëkut spelling and placed a name:alternate=Bahçallekut tag, but this needs to be reviewed by somebody who is familiar with the Albanian language.

Ali Leçej

the street shown in shkodraInYourPocket.pdf could not be identified in SISTEMI_I_ADRESAVE_BASHKIA_SHKODER_08.03.10.pdf

Ura e Bunes

source SISTEMI_I_ADRESAVE_BASHKIA_SHKODER_08.03.10.pdf name is spelled Ura e Bunës on http://xhema.flossk.org:8080/mapdata/03/SkoderCityMap/tiles/. Gave this spelling a name:alternative tag in OSM. Should be checked by an Albanian language speaker.

Zaja

appears on http://xhema.flossk.org:8080/mapdata/03/SkoderCityMap/tiles/ (reference D3) but is unnamed on SISTEMI_I_ADRESAVE_BASHKIA_SHKODER_08.03.10.pdf. Is not yet digitized in OSM.
