Fergana Valley is a Region in Central Asia at latitude 40°46′12.00″ North, longitude 71°30′00.00″ East.

A valley in Central Asia, mostly part of Uzbekistan, but also Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan . Once was the main cotton growing area in USSR, now major oil and gas producing region too, and very badly polluted. The centre of the valley has very good satellite images on Yahoo. There are almost no maps of the valley with any detail available online. There are few old Soviet ones in Cyrillic script.

The area has a huge network of canals (including the famous Great Fergana Canal as well as usual roads and railways to be mapped.
