Kenwood is a audio/radio manufacturer. Some of their amateur radio transceivers contain GPS receivers for APRS operations.

  • The SiRFstarIII chipset gives a good accuracy

  • Very slow to acquire on startup. Seems to do cold start on the receiver every time.

Summary

It's a very nice handheld VHF/UHF radio, but only a middling GPS for OSM use.
