Key:adopted

A boolean key to indicate whether a highway has been adopted by the local highways authority for maintenance. By implicit default, all publicly maintained roads are adopted=yes. Unadopted roads such as private access roads or new build development roads prior to Traffic Regulation Order and display of the legally required speed limit signage can be explicitly tagged with adopted=yes.

Recommended: Use adopted=yes/no over unadopted=no/yes to avoid double negatives.
