City of Los Angeles vs the County of Los Angeles

Note, Los Angeles is also a county in Southern California, where the city of LA is located, as well as many other smaller cities and unincorporated areas. For now, this page will include any information related to OSM in the City of LA as well as the County of LA.

What's going on?

Aug 20 2014: Los Angeles buildings import Cityhubla will begin to add buildings provided by LA County GIS Portal. The data, released to the public on November 2, 2012 contains building outlines countywide as part of Los Angeles Region Imagery Acquisition Consortium (LAR_IAC) Program.

Department of Water and Power

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (DWP) provides utilities to much of the city.

There are substations (called Distributing Stations) in the city, numbered from 1 to 145 (with some missing numbers). Here is an Overpass query for them, and here is one that just returns their names, as a CSV file.
