Neighborhoods and City Council Districts
Recently, many, if not all, neighborhood boundaries in Los Angeles were removed (Changeset 127908251). The boundaries of neighborhoods are a difficult topic to pin down officialy, and proper sources should be found to eventually fix this mass removal and, as is suggested by the changeset notes, non-copyrighted sources should be sought. It is preferable that the MappingLA project is not used, as it is an LA Times project as well as being controversial for artificially creating neighborhood conglomerates.
Neighborhood Council Districts may be a better alternative as these are official entities under municipal jurisdiction, and may be a better approximation to neighborhood boundaries while also data that is useful to have in the map for local residents. One example of these districts is North Hills East which, like the other districts, provides a map of boundaries (North Hills East Neighborhood Council "About" page).
It would also be useful to add the City Council Districts for similar reasons as the previous. The recent (2021) boundaries are available in this map. --AragonChristopherR17z (talk) 08:24, 23 December 2022 (UTC)
