Luxembourg/Mapping Party

From OpenStreetMap Wiki

The ideal commune for our first mapping party should :

  • Have a lot of data missing.
  • Be densely built to make the best use of our time.
  • Be well connected to public transport, and not too far away from urban areas.
  • Be neither too small nor too large, to make it challenging but not discouraging. (This will of course depend on how many people show up. How many show up will of course depend on the place.)
  • Have few active local mappers.
  • Have a nice cafe/restaurant/pub with an internet connection and power plugs where we could trace after mapping.

Eventually, two communes could be combined.

Vote on the commune where a mapping-party could be useful by adding the commune(s) with your name or adding your name to a commune below.

Mersch

I propose to paint all buildings in advance and map the house numbers and POIs together afterwards during a mapping party. We map missing streets also (not so many in Mersch). Then we can get Mersch fully mapped within a short time. I would start to paint all building according to Bing maps - everyone is invited to contribute as well... I plan to start beginning of September. Anyone out there wants to join me?
