WHAT IS MISSING MAPS?
Putting the World’s Vulnerable People on the Map The Missing Maps project is an open collaboration of NGOs that aims to map the most vulnerable places in the developing world, so that international and local organizations, as well as individuals can use the maps and data to better respond to crises affecting the areas. We'd like to invite you to come to the launch event, which will open with an introduction to the project. This will be followed by a mapping party where we will be mapping areas in Rwanda, Indonesia and Bangladesh to support long-term Red Cross programs. We will also be mapping for the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. Multiple aid organizations, including the Red Cross, have deployed medical teams to identified sites in Sierra Leone and Liberia, and additional detailed base map data is needed to assist in the response.
WHAT DO I NEED?
Just a laptop, a mouse and enthusiasm (mouse isn't absolutely necessary but makes the mapping A LOT faster).
DO I NEED TO INSTALL SOFTWARE
