Nottingham/Open Data
Nottingham City Council, the unitary authority covering the city have a vigorous and exciting open data policy with a dedicated website [].
A large number of data sets have been made available, and more continue to be published. Not all contain geographical information but most do.
A number of blog posts have been written looking at this data and itss applicability to OSM on Maps Matter by user:SK53, they are tagged "Nottingham, Open Data".

Use of Data in association with OSM
Imports
In general don't consider importing this data, a better approach is to use it to drive on-the-ground mapping (see below). The main exception to this is the tram data : details of planned lines imported have considerably assisted both additional mapping and showing a major structural change in the city.
Validation
So far about 5% of open data investigated (mainly Licensed Premises and Food Hygiene) is different from OSM. In the main these appear to reflect changes which have occurred since the Open Data was compiled (typically closures or renaming of premises). Additionally there are a small number of errors in the Open Data, such as incorrect postcodes (often typos), which need to be considered when using the data for validation.
