Purpose
This page is used to propose new protocol features or to change existing features of the OSM Protocol Version 0.4. It is used for the discussion and to document discussion outcome. Approved feature requests shall be integrated into the corresponding protocol version.
Process
This process is only applied to already stabilized protocol visions. It shall be kept a lightweight.
Process states
The following process states shall be used:
| Feature Status | Description |
| Proposed | The Protocol feature is proposed for integration into the corresponding Protocol Specification. |
| Accepted | The Protocol feature had been accepted. It will be integrated into the corresponding Protocol Specification. |
| Integrated | The Protocol feature had been accepted and had been integrated into the corresponding Protocol Specification. |
| Rejected | The Protocol feature had been rejected. |
| Postponed | The Protocol feature is postponed. |
Discussion & Approval Process
As this process is new, there will be no formalized approval process. Though it is evident that the API implementers will have the last word.
