OpenSkiMap (openskimap.org) is a map optimized for downhill skiing/snowboarding, cross country skiing, and backcountry skiing. The project was started in 2011 using raster Mapnik tiles. In 2018 v2 was launched using Mapbox vector tiles. In 2019, the project was open sourced on Github.
