Phuket is a province in Thailand at latitude 7°53′24.00″ North, longitude 98°23′52.80″ East.

Ongoing Projects
- The boundaries for all of the Amphoe and Tambon need to be sourced and mapped- please see this topic on the OSM forums
- Place names need to be defined in Thai and English for all of the above boundaries

Data sources
In addition to a survey with GPS one may also use aerial imagery if available with a suitable license.
Bing aerial imagery is available in many parts. Landsat provides coverage of the whole country and is available with different image modes.
 | Pay attention to a misalignment of Bing aerials as well as Landsat imagery. Always verify alignment with GPS tracks and realign images when needed. |

Phuket is divided into three districts (
Amphoe), which are further subdivided into 17 subdistricts ( tambon) and 103 villages ( muban).

There are nine municipal ( thesaban) areas within the province. The capital Phuket has city ( thesaban nakhon) status, and the main touristical town Patong as well as Kathu has town ( thesaban mueang) status. There are further six subdistrict municipalities ( thesaban tambon)—Karon, Thep Krasattri, Choeng Thale, Ratsada, Rawai and Wichit. The non-municipal areas are administrated by nine tambon administrative organizations (TAO).
