About

From May to June 2020, PoliMappers had the opportunity to collaborate with IMMDesignLab, an international multidisciplinary design laboratory based in Politecnico di Milano (Italy). This collaboration resulted in a series of webinar held during the Architecture for Smart City course that is part of the Master Degree track in Sustainable Architecture and Landscape Design issued in the PoliMI Piacenza campus. A total number of 80 international students were introduced to the world of Volunteered Geographic Information and of open geospatial data with a special focus on the OpenStreetMap project. They could also get familiar with the concepts learnt during the theoretical sessions with some practical applications on the joint use of Mapillary and OpenStreetMap editors for the shop places-mapping in the city of Piacenza.

Vice-president Alessandro Zacchera and Communication responsible Federica Gaspari took part in a series of lectures and webinars for the course organised by Professor Massimo Tadi. Candan Eylül Kilsedar PhD., PoliMappers faculty advisor, and Arch. Carlo Andrea Biraghi PhD., academic tutor of the course, coordinated the collaboration.
