  • would 'community_hall' be a better tag, as it does not imply that it can only exist in a village? --Mungewell 20:44, 3 April 2008 (BST)
  • I think this overlaps with amenity=townhall - which also covers village halls for community functions. --trs998 16:29, 17 August 2008 (BST)
  • I like 'community_hall' much better than village_hall. There are buildings in towns and cities that are used like a village hall but are not in a village. A town hall is often an administrative building for a local council, rather than a set of rooms available for rent by the local community. Chillly 17:06, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
  • +1 for 'community_hall'. Flavour 21 September 2008
  • Yes, I'd go with community_hall. They're important buildings in many communities, and it's frustrating that as yet there is no rendering for them. Peerjay56 16:45, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
  • If this feature is approved, the definition of amenity=townhall should be changed to only include town halls with an administrative function. Also amenity=community_hall should just be amenity=communityhall or amenity=hall in order to reduce its length. orienteerer 18:36, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
  • -1 : It seems to be similar to community_center [[1]]. As the last one is older, more accepted and little more used, I would suggest to use it instead. --Eric S 20:55, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
