Proposal process/historic notes

Proposal process rules were changed over time. Here is a summary of them: Older proposals are still considered "approved" if they met the standard in place at the time.

(Historic note: prior to March 2015, the standard for approval was 8 unanimous votes or a 50% majority if there were more than 15 votes. Older proposals are still considered "approved" if they met the standard in place at the time.)

(Historic note: meaning of abstain votes was clarified in 2020)

(Historic note: prior to 2021-02-10, the standard for approval was "8 unanimous approval votes or at least 10 votes with more than 74 % approval". Older proposals are still considered "approved" if they met the standard in place at the time.)

(Historic note: prior to 2021-03-10 necessary support was defined in a following way: "A rule of thumb for "enough support" is at least 8 approval votes and at least 75 % approval, (a simple way of counting is that a minimum of 3 yes votes for every no vote is sufficient), but other factors may also be considered (such as whether a feature is already in use)."))
