Proposal talk:Events centre

- amenity=events_venue (draft)
This tag is very confusing : the description is similar to amenity=community_centre
A public facility which is mostly used by local associations for events and festivities. Sometimes it can also be used for private or commercial events.
- If the events centre contains several buildings, create an area to describe the whole site.
This is the same for an exhibition park ;-)
- events_centre:exposition=yes for exposition/exhibition centres. Use exhibition because this term is already used in OSM (see #Rationale)
- Music venue
Your example "Palais des congrès (Paris) is a music venue. I suggest to add events_centre:music=yes. See also abandoned tag amenity=music_venue.

- The section "See also" is not part of the proposal. It's there simply to link related pages (I'm referring to your first point only). --Jgpacker (talk) 16:07, 29 October 2014 (UTC)
- It seems fair to change exposition to exhibition, I will do it. Concerning the "Palais des Congrès", I'm not sure but it seems more to be mainly a conference centre, where sometimes cultural shows happen. Maybe some contributors in Paris can confirm ? However, the statement stays true, and add a sub-key for cultural events (concerts, one man shows, ...) is a good idea. Why not something generic like events_centre:spectacle=yes ? --PanierAvide (talk) 17:56, 29 October 2014 (UTC)
