What is the difference to historic=monument?

Why not something like use monument:type=obelisk?

The subkeys can then be something like monument:*=*. This even works, when you come up with the next monument. --Fabi2 20:23, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

This proposal is about obelisks, not about monuments. Not all obelisks are monuments. There is also very small ones. Only the obelisks with a size obelisk:size=monumental can IMHO be regarded as monuments, but I leave this open to the mapper. There is no reason not to additionally add historic=monument to an obelisk, I also suggest this in the proposal. -- Dieterdreist 12:19, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Small obelisk mey be tagged with historic=memorial. In any case an obelisk is a kind of memorial construction.

Fine. Why not memorial:type=war, memorial:type=politician? There are infinite ways to order the world and I decided to classify obelisks according to their shape. -- Dieterdreist 19:19, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

obelisk:height

So far, "obelisk:height" is just equivalent of "min_height" in 3D, which is in use, and has not yet renders.. --Władysław Komorek (talk) 16:20, 16 July 2014 (UTC)
