Unit instead of part

To me, plant_unit would be more correct than plant_part from a semantic point of view. That would not only allow to distinguish construction stages but different actual unit in the same site, built at the same time (see nuclear reactors designated as a production unit in REMIT European rules). See this big solar power plant as well.

Are we sure it's the same plant?

We should be very careful to not encourage to group different actual plants. It's usual to find adjacent plants - not surrounded by a unique perimeter - with different ref:EU:ENTSOE_EIC=* codes, operated by different companies.
Despite it's barely visible from ground, opendata could give us opportunity to check that. In France, work is currently done to identify each independent farm, using power=plant.
Rationale should be more precise with key points that must be checked to state how we know it's a global plant split in several units. Fanfouer (talk) 14:11, 11 October 2021 (UTC)

Dispersed power plants tagging

In the tagging chapter, It is proposed that nested relations of this type are explicitly discouraged, and that plant parts are tagged as independent relations with type=site.
Are you suggesting splitting existing power=plant relation into several new power=plant_part relations? Fanfouer (talk) 14:11, 11 October 2021 (UTC)

Generator representation

In the tagging chapter, in the sentence The power=plant page should make clear that each power=generator should be be represented by no more than one power=plant object., what does represented mean?

Alternatives

Can you simply use landuse=industrial when the land is independent without mixed use? Many other areas, such as landuse=residential and shop=mall, need to solve the same representation in parts by phases and areas. ---- Kovposch (talk) 10:06, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
