Confusing. what is the vote about, shop=shotball or shop=airsoft ?
Why should a shop selling 'paintball, hardball and laser tag' be called w:airsoft? Isn't there a more generic term for it? --Polarbear w (talk) 20:25, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
Sport
I think these are sports. So use shop=sports with sport=paintball;hardbal;laser_gun;airsoft Warin61 (talk) 20:53, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
- Good idea.--Polarbear w (talk) 21:54, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
- It could be seen as sports, but it doesn't have to. No need to insist on a sports tag, especially as this only requires 2 tags to say the same as one (and bears the risk of confusing specialized paintball shops with generic sports shops). Using very generic tags like shop=sports for all instances of a broad category only leads to this tag being useless to dataconsumers (i.e. people looking for a specific shop to buy something) and requiring additional tags so they can actually understand the thing. Looking at actual shop values, there are already other values that could be tagged as sports shops, e.g. (in order of current usage) "bicycle", "motorcycle", "outdoor", "video_games", "fishing", "nutrition_supplements", "scuba_diving", "weapons", "hunting", "swimming_pool", "boat", "water_sports" etc. Everything could also get a different tag, it is IMHO not an argument to just say "it could also be tagged as foo" if you don't state why this would be better. Paintball shops could also be seen as a subcategory of weapon shops, for example.--Dieterdreist (talk) 11:17, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
Post-vote?
The voting time span has ended. A post-voting cleanup should be considered. U30303020 (talk) 17:45, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, either it should be marked as rejected, or the voting period should be extended because the quorum was not reached. --Dieterdreist (talk) 11:07, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
