Welcome to Wayanad: A Paradise in Kerala
Nestled in the Western Ghats, Wayanad is a haven for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts alike. This enchanting district is adorned with rolling hills, dense forests, and sparkling waterfalls, making it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Wayanad is the only plateau in Kerala. The Wayanad Plateau forms a continuation of the Mysore Plateau, the southern portion of the Deccan Plateau. It is set high in the Western Ghats with altitudes ranging from 700 to 2,100 meters. An area of 885.92 km2 in the district is forested.

Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU) is a university established by the Government of Kerala in December 2010 to further education, research and extension services in the field of Veterinary and Animal Sciences.Its headquarters is located at Pookode near Kalpetta in Wayanad District in Kerala State.

- Buses to the venue are available from KSRTC bus stand which is 3 km from Calicut Railway station. Bus, Auto rickshaw and Cabs are available from railway station to bus stand (See more details below).
By Bus
- Regular bus services are available from different parts of Kerala. KSRTC Buses are available from KSRTC bus Stand, Mavoor Road, Kozhikode and Private buses are available from Moffusil busstand (New Bus stand) which is 600 m away from KSRTC bus stand.
- Buses to Kalpetta, Sulthan Bathery, Mananthavady (via Kalpetta), Mysore, Bangalore passes through the venue. Get off the bus at the Veterinary University bus stop.
- Buses are also available from Mysore and Bangalore.
By Car
- Reach venue via NH 212 (Calicut-Ooty Road).
