Suggested tweets
There's a twitter account called 
@openstreetmap
which tracks current news in the OpenStreetMap world. This is maintained by Communication Working Group, but we've been falling behind on the frequency of tweets we'd like to put out. This page allows people to suggest tweets. CWG folks will watch this wiki page, and may respond. If you prefer you can send a message to communication AT osmfoundation.org with your suggestions. Remember tweets have to be short!
Other places where you can post news items include the Main Page news box, which needs some love

Suggested news tweets:

Would be good to fire out interesting news items every one or two days. News tweets might have a scheduled date, if they're related to some news we know is going to happen. News will also likely have a "use by date" after which it's a bit out of date, so we'll drop suggestions off this list if we didn't tweet them after a while (for whatever reason) Please don't be offended if we don't tweet your tweet. There are various subtle considerations at play.

Did you know
We were thinking of putting out "Did you know" tweets. The handy thing about these is that they will be largely unchanged and remain up-to-date over time, so we might save them up and fire them off when we're having a lull in the news. They don't necessarily need to begin with "Did you know" (in fact that's kinda cheesy)
