While there may certainly be many tv series that unintentionally use OpenStreetMap as a prop element, or intentionally but neglected to provide credit, some tv series have intentionally used OSM-derived maps or OSM data in production and provided attribution in the tv series's end credits.

TV series that mention the OSM project in the dialogue

Year Film or Series (mention episode) Mention of OSM Remarks
2022 Super Pumped (TV series).
Season 1, Episode 3, "War"
The scene is from a meeting at Google HQ with Travis Kalanick (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and Larry Page (Ben Feldman).
Dialogue excerpt : [1]

- "How does route planning work? That's... is that OSRM, or are you using our APIs?"
- "It's open-source."
- "Open-source what?"
- "OpenStreetMap, I'm pretty sure. It's... it's really advanced. We have the best guys on it."
- "You don't actually write code, do you, Tyler?"

"OpenStreetMap" is definitely not quite the right answer when someone from Google is asking you, "How does route planning work?" Additional unnecessary remark, such as "I'm pretty sure. It's... it's really advanced. We have the best guys on it," does not exude technical confidence.

Larry had already guessed two of the possible alternative options: either using "our APIs" (which is Google Maps Platform's Routes API) or OSRM (one of the currently available OSM-based routing libraries). Instead of answering with "OpenStreetMap", Tyler should have explicitly mentioned the exact OSM-based routing library that they use (it's probably one from these).
