A facility that provides drinking water in emergency situations, when the regular water distribution systems fails, e.g. in crisis situations, power outages.

The tag should be used in combination with a physical structure, such as a man_made=water_well or natural=water + water=reservoir. The well can be further specified, e.g. water_well=pump, pump=manual.

The tag is independent of the legal requirements for drinking water that is normally distributed in non-emergency situations. In a crisis, people would prefer treating the water themselves (boil, filter) to dying of thirst.

Example - Manual pumping network in Berlin, Germany
