A fitness centre (fitness center in American English) is a place with exercise machines and/or fitness/dance classes. They are places to go to for exercise. Otherwise known as a gym, health club, or fitness club.
The leisure=fitness_centre tag is now the most popular tag for Gym / Fitness centre among several possibilities (See that page for stats comparisons etc)
How to map
Set a node at the centre of the fitness centre or draw an area along its outline.
Add the tag leisure=fitness_centre.

Possible tagging mistakes
Gymnastics is generally referring to a different sport than what is practised at a fitness centre. Use sport=fitness instead if you are tagging the sport of a fitness centre/gym.
