Sumo is a traditional martial arts of Japan.
Sumo matches usually take place in a dohyō. Dokyō is usually made on top of a platform made of clay mixed with sand. Therefore there are many dojo and pitches used for sumo exclusively.
Some jinjas (Shinto shrines) and schools in Japan have outdoor dohyōs.
