Talk:Beginners Guide 1.2.2
Explanation wrong - maybe
The wiki says: "Add helpful tags that can be used to find it such as “London UK” (each word is a tag in itself, so Isle of Wight should be "IOW" or "Isle-of-wight")." but on the upload form, it says: "(comma delimited)". Which is not was is told in the wiki.
The wiki actually says that is is space delimited, when it probaly is comma delimited...

Think the WIKI is correct have added tags myself and they were treated as space delimited. EG "NEATH WALKING" i'd use Walking as form of transport and neath as location. I can then use these later to show all my traces were i was walking or all traces in Neath. Believe the confusion here is this page refers to tags for your GPS traces which are optional and not needed to import a trace, whereas the tags used on the mapping page are comma delimited. Description however does need to be entered before you can import GPS traces. --Farrpau 21:50, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
That might be the case. --Nickoe 09:31, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Help for beginners?
Hi all, I fail to find a user discussion forum to put this question, is it appropriate to ask here? (it seems rather tricky discussing by wiki-editing like this)
My problem is I wanted to add my home street Parkvägen in Luleå, Sweden. http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=65.5743&lon=22.0908&zoom=16 I only managed to get fragments on the street to appear in the maps.
Using the Beginner's Guide, I was able to record a GPS track, edit using JOSM (which unfortunately the start documentation directs new users to) and also in the Flash-editor at www.openstreetmaps.org . I added nodes and connected them (confirmed it) and set attributes highway=residential, name=Parkvägen Still it did not result in a connected street, only fragments. What is wrong?

This behaviour could be because the map tile hasn't fully re-rendered yet their is a way to force render update using information freeway web page, go on zoom level 12 and press ctrl+click on the tiles to be updated.
The Forum can be found at Forum also if you prefer their is a mailing list at newbies list theirs a list of all the contact options on the main page about 2 thirds of the way down on the right hand side. --Farrpau 21:49, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
