Creative Commons version

I would like to upload a screenshot of a map to Wikipdeia. In Wikipedia, they accept any material licensed under CC-BY-SA 2.5, 3.0 or 4.0. Unfortunately, the license here is CC-BY-SA 2.0...

Is it possible to treat the screenshots of this site as if they are licensed under CC-BY-SA 2.5 (or later)?

I don't know the differences between these licenses. I looked shortly at them and it seems that the difference is mainly technical, but I cannot be sure... this is why I ask. --Erel Segal (talk) 13:45, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

Beware of 'trap streets'

Mention that even if they are "Out of copyright maps", they may be very well likely to be sprinkled with w:Trap streets!

So still be sure to double check the ground truth before introducing errors into OpenStreetMaps. Jidanni (talk) 02:05, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
