Postupak opisan u članku jest kopiranje originalnih podataka, članak čak doslovno opisuje copy-paste tehniku. Time ne nastaju novi podaci, samo se u bazi stvara tehnički privid da su podaci novi. Ako se radi o podacima pod licencom CC-BY-SA 2.0 (a upravo ti podaci jesu bit članka), tada je dozvoljeno kopiranje i prilagodba tih podataka, ali (pojednostavljeno) pod sljedećim uvjetima (na engleskom):
- Attribution — You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor (but not in any way that suggests that they endorse you or your use of the work).
- Share Alike — If you alter, transform, or build upon this work, you may distribute the resulting work only under the same or similar license to this one.
Dakle i tako nastala kopija podataka jest pod CC-BY-SA licencom. Ako korisnik koji je prihvatio nove uvijete doprinositrelja provodi ovaj postupak, time on izjavljue da podatke licencira i pod ODbL licencom, na što nema pravo i što je kršenje uvjeta doprinositelja, isto kao da je kopirao recimo TeleAtlas ili druge karte. Time ujedno kompromitira i OSM bazu kartografskih podataka.

Procedure described in the article is copying of original map data, article even describes copy-paste technique. This procedure does not create new data, it only creates technical illusion that data are new. If the copied data are under CC-BY-SA 2.0 licence (and the article is about these data), then copying and adopting these data is allowed, but under following conditions (simplified):

Therefore data made with procedure described in the article is still under CC-BY-SA license. If procedure is done by user that accepted new Contributor terms, the user is licensing that data also under ODbL licence, what the user is not entitled to do, and what constitutes breach of Contributor terms, similar to copying maps of TeleAtlas or other maps. This also compromises OSM geospacial database.
