attraction=tropic

I attraction=tropic listing here a bit too prominent? Just single use. Note also man_made=meridian_marker that is 11 times more popular Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 01:25, 18 November 2021 (UTC).

man_made=meridian_marker is certainly correct as well, but tropic crossings are often places with a special sign or small monument where tourists stop to make pictures. Such places are tourist attractions. --Jan van Bekkum (talk) 06:35, 18 November 2021 (UTC)

Replace with leisure=*

IMHO, separate key for amusement features is unnecessary, leisure=* should be sufficient. For example, attraction=water_slide may be replaced by leisure=water_slide. Something B (talk) 15:58, 8 March 2025 (UTC)

attraction=water_slide is the attraction's area enclosing all of it. leisure=water_slide is the actual individual slides as lines.

What made you think it was a good idea to set up a page for leisure=water_slide with about 64 uses which only mentions attracting=water_slide (which has 22500 occurrences) in the sidebar, rather than making it a proposal or a possible synonym? —-Dieterdreist (talk) 09:44, 9 March 2025 (UTC)

You should reply to the above, not me. I didn't do it.
I should say "can be", and they can be used in reverse. It's unfortunate that attraction=water_slide lines are being rendered. This is inconsistent with attraction=roller_coaster and roller_coaster=track , making it impossible to uniquely identity an area for a set of slides, as attraction=water_slide can be split.

Actually I agree that leisure=water_slide is a good move, but it should be made clear that it is not what is currently done, i.e. give a hint about common tagging and maybe some reasoning why the transition would be beneficial. —-Dieterdreist (talk) 08:23, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
