Tagging breweries
How do we tag breweries? —Michael Z. 2011-06-19 19:36 z
- There is a project starting to try to tag breweries in the UK and as part of that we're discussing how best to tag them Craigloftus 16:05, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
Microbrewery
I've reworded the section on Microbreweries to try to clarify the meaning of the word in English. Under UK legislation a microbrewery is one producing less than 5000 hl i.e., it is just a small producer, nothing to do with whether it is in a pub Craigloftus 16:05, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
Other ways of tagging
Proposed features/Beer details uses drink:<Type_of_beer>=yes/draught/bottled/no with the possibility to expand to drink:stout:Murphy=bottled. That proposed scheme is in its most simple form
drink:<brewery_name>=yes

brewery=various is unhelpful
The suggested value "brewery=various" provides almost no information. Most features that sell beer will offer some from more than one brewery. I suggest this value should not be recommended. --Jeisenbe (talk) 14:12, 13 March 2020 (UTC)
- Agree. It's quite uncommon a pub sells one single kind of beer, unless it's a microbrewery (and not even sometimes) --Hugoren Martinako (talk) 08:09, 15 November 2021 (UTC)
- Besides, this tag would be the best approach describing places who only serves (doesn't brew) multiple craft beers on several taps. And that's terrible inaccurate --Hugoren Martinako (talk) 08:14, 15 November 2021 (UTC)
