Talk:Key:electric bicycle
Access hierarchy
Where does the electric_bicycle fit in in the access hierarchy. Because it have a motor, motor_vehicle=no means also electric_bicycle=no. But also when bicycle=no is mentioned, this means electric_bicycle=no Should this be mentioned in the key page.--AllroadsNL (talk) 18:33, 1 December 2020 (UTC) Additional: There are traffic_signs and there are access_signs placed by the land owner, on these access signs the land owner describes in his wording, what is allowed or not, they often use the word combination - prohibited "motorized traffic", then we should know what this mean. This term is also used in legislation, it should then be generally known. Within this legislation, the electric_bicycle is also classified as "motorized traffic". This must be checked within the country. Also within the legislation the electric_bicycle must follow the rules of a bicycle. Country differences. motor_vehicle= therefore applies to electric_bicycle. This is also with disabled_vehicle, the difference between motorized or not. --AllroadsNL (talk) 12:38, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
Class 1, 2, and 3
How would I map a bike path with the rules of the image above? Class 1 & 2 ebikes allowed and Class 3 ebikes are disallowed. Osmedit (talk) 03:18, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
- Maybe, no withspeed_pedelec--AllroadsNL (talk) 15:45, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
The American classes are not well documented yet, also due to missing input from the US community during the proposal. We can map these US classes to the EU classes and OSM tags as follows:
- class 1: Clearly Key:electric_bicycle - assisted up to 25 km/h (EU) and 20 mph (US)
- class 2: In the EU this is no special class. Electric two-wheelers with a throttle are classified as other small motorcycles: Key:mofa up to 25 km/h and Key:moped up to 45 km/h. According to the Proposal:ElectricScooters they might be tagged as Key:electric_mofa.
- class 3: Clearly Key:speed_pedelec - assisted up to 45 km/h (EU) and 28 mph (US)
