Un-disclosed mass edits

It appears that most the usage of this tag came from a few mass edits of in 2017 done to the parts=* tag that transferred over a good portion of its usage over to this tag. Taking that into account and the fact that parts=* was clearly the favored, used, tagging scheme before it was artificially messed with, I suggest this tag be done away with, along with similar *:parts tags, and it be suggested people use the original widely used parts=* top level tag instead. Since this tag and others like it clearly not legitimate and probably wouldn't be used at all if it wasn't for the mass edits. Btw, the mass edit happened around the same exact date in 2017 when RTFM created this article and the motorcycle:clothes article where he mass edited the clothes= tag to boast its usage just like he did here. He probably did it with other tags also. --Adamant1 (talk) 06:21, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

Edit warring

If I'm correct, there seems to be a disagreement as to if clothes are considered "parts." Which has led to a needless edit war. I'd like to see it clarified and worked out by the two originally involved in the reverting before I got involved. IMO clothes are not parts, but I'm neutral on it until it's clearer what this is actually about. --Adamant1 (talk) 20:01, 13 April 2020 (UTC)

If I'm correct, it was YOU edit warring the page Tag:brand=Louis_Motorrad without even checking why.
  • parts: motorcycle (spare) parts and replacement parts
  • clothes are clothes, where's the problem ?
  • accessories (as replaced by jeisenbe on above page) are any gadgets "around" the topic, but not "parts" in the sense of motorcycle:parts. If you're keen on it, you may "invent" something like motorcycle:accessories or motorcycle:gadgets, but up to now it seems nobody found it useful. rtfm Rtfm (talk) 11:26, 14 April 2020 (UTC)

Clothing and accessories?

User:rtfm why did you remove this:

"However, some brands which sell accessories, such as brand=Louis_Motorrad which sells clothing and accessories, have been tagged with motorcycle:parts=yes/no, perhaps because in some languages the distinction between "parts" and "accessories" is not clear."

Is this incorrect? From the website, it looks like Louis Motorrad sells accessories and clothing at their shops, but of course I have not visited these in person.

Also, why remove "clothes" from the list of things which are not "parts?" Do you think "clothing" should be included? (I added clothing to this sentence: "Accessories, clothing and other gear don't fit into this category") --Jeisenbe (talk) 04:01, 14 April 2020 (UTC)

I didn't remove it but answered it. Probably adamant "accidentally" removed it ? rtfm Rtfm (talk) 11:26, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
