Talk:Key:pyörä väistää aina autoa
This key apparently is the only one that contains Umlauts, of all those with a wiki page. Nothing wrong with Umlauts, but it sometimes poses problems with computer programs. That's how I stumbled upon it; while trying to parse all OSM key's. Also links didnt't support a,ö,ü for a long time and some are not up-to-date yet. How about changing the Umlauts to ae, oe, ue like in the DE, CH, AU special tags?
What is the translation of this key?

I suspect that the combination of pyörä_väistää_aina_autoa=jep and crossing=traffic_signals is equivalent to pyörä_väistää_aina_autoa=jos_valot_pois_päältä. In a similar fashion pyörä_väistää_aina_autoa=tämä_osa and crossing=traffic_signals could be equivalent to pyörä_väistää_aina_autoa=tämä_jos_valoton. At least it is hard to believe that a bicycle has to give way to a car that has a red light.
Furthermore, crossing:island=yes and pyörä_väistää_aina_autoa=jep may be equivalent to pyörä_väistää_aina_autoa=toisella_osista. If one island has more than just one node crossing:island=separate could be used to be equivalent to pyörä_väistää_aina_autoa=tämä_osa. Since I made this conclusions based on translations somebody should review them.
I suggest removing the redundant values and simultaneously add a value for intersections where the rule certainly does not apply. The remaining tags would be pyörä_väistää_aina_autoa=jep, pyörä_väistää_aina_autoa=epäselvä and pyörä_väistää_aina_autoa=el. This should not be a problem when counting the different kind of intersections with overpass-turbo. --Jogemu (talk) 16:32, 12 January 2025 (UTC)
