Reusable paper and plastic bags
People, me included, re-use paper and plastic bags all the time. California, and I believe a few other states, require all plastic bags be reusable. So I am going to remove that part from the article if there are no objections. --Adamant1 (talk) 02:35, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
- I'm against removing that sentence. It was included already in the first version of the proposal (nearly two years ago) that was just accepted. It gives users a feeling what should or shouldn't count as reusable. See also the discussion here: Talk:Proposed_features/reusable_packaging#Namespace_and_no_tag. --Flo Edelmann (talk) 20:23, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
- I responded on the proposals talk page. That said, people shouldn't tag things based on their feelings or intuitions. Articles should be clear and descriptive enough to make it so they don't have to. If your unable to do that then it just points to wider, inherent issues with this tagging scheme that apparently can't be resolved. It seems like this tagging scheme was made with (and for the benefit of) a very narrow, mainly European audience in mind. Generally speaking, a tag should be globally usable. Excluding whole states or countries from being able to use a tag just because they have reusable plastic bags but some random European country doesn't really goes against that principle and is extremely ethnocentric. --Adamant1 (talk) 01:37, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
