smoking what?

Is this about all kinds of smoke or about tobacco specifically? In Germany we would like to distinguish between smoking, smoking tobacco, smoking cannabis and eventually smoking other things. —Dieterdreist (talk) 13:04, 23 April 2024 (UTC)

I would say smoking generally (IOW any kind of smoking), i.e. Smoking -- be it tobacco, cannabis, crack cocaine or other... However some of those are more likely to be allowed than others in public spaces where smoking=* is usually used. But if there is a need for distinction due to only some being allowed (e.g. smoking cannabis is allowed at some places but tobacco isn't), then perhaps more specific smoking:cannabis=*, smoking:tobacco=*, smoking:cocaine=* or some other schema might be employed. I see one of them is already defined in DE namespace?
