Fixing the english
Lot of work still to do on this page fixing the english. Right now it will create a bad impression if any english speaking press read this. If I spend too long rewriting it though, I get this sinking feeling that I seem to be writing "yet another introduction to the project". -- Harry Wood 02:48, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Harry, feel free to start from scratch. I tried to encourage people on different channels to write this press kit, but sadly noone did. As the media seemed to like the german version, I tried to translate this is english. Of course it's not real good, but remembering the spirit of a wiki, I thought it was a first step :) --!i! 10:41, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
- You working on that Harry? We tried to keep the focus on Journalists (not geo experienced, low IT knowledge, looking for metaphers, ...). Currently we have no such a landing page that we could give away, or? --!i! 18:52, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
- Yes I have not been working on it. Neither it seems, has any other english speaker worked on fixing this since I said that in 2013 -- Harry Wood (talk) 19:43, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
Part rewrite request: Use "free geographic data" instead of "map" since first paragraph
This is actually misleading statement "free street map of the world". We define ourselves differently today. Misconceptions_about_OpenStreetMap#OpenStreetMap_is_a_map.
If we use statements about "free geographic data" since first paragraph, then there no need in explain Press_Kit#Data_vs._Map. Xxzme (talk) 16:42, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
