Talk:Retail chains in the United Kingdom
Muji - what's the tag?
One UK retail chain I found a bit difficult to classify is Muji. Japanese stylish stuff in a lot of different categories. household items and stationary, and clothes, and cosmetics. Seems a few people tagged it as clothes shop -- Harry Wood (talk) 02:28, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
- Maybe variety store or department store from what you describe. Lakedistrict (talk) 21:45, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
The Works
What should we tag The Works as? It's both a book shop and a craft shop. Also where can I get more up to date figures on the use of the tags? Thanks --Lakedistrict (talk) 16:43, 17 March 2016 (UTC)
- You could try Taginfo. There is a British-specific Taginfo if you want local statistics.--Andrew (talk) 21:29, 17 March 2016 (UTC)
"Note: Figures are as at October 2014"
The page says at the top "October 2014" but in the history I can see that Jerry has updated some (many/all/?) in 2018 Jnicho02 (talk) 10:15, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
- At some stage Math1985 wanted the page to update from taginfo & I think the figures originally date from then, but I found this tended to remove the most useful part the associated narrative. I may have been negligent in not adding a date after figures in the past.
- I think the page could be more useful if it was split into smaller category pages to aid editing. I do have a list of around 15 overall categories which work quite well. They could be transcluded into an overall page. This may also make adding a current summary from taginfo more viable. I'd also like to see entries marked with icons for the following two cases: exists in the NSI; exists in rjw62's Ghosts. Any thoughts on how this might be achieved/ SK53 (talk) 15:38, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
"Terminology: At the moment we do not tag individual formats"
Is this statement true? Do we not later list Tesco Metro and others? Jnicho02 (talk) 17:27, 17 June 2019 (UTC)
