Area members?

Discussions about routing over area members are still going on. The issue is: can routing software be expected to route over areas, if so then pedestrian areas could/should be accepted as members in a route relation, and the roles should apply to those members as well. Currently most people concur that routers can not (yet) be expected to route over areas, so an area should be represented by way indicating the preferred path over the area.--Peter Elderson (talk) 08:27, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
