Kosmos is deprecated
When I follow the Kosmos link it says: Kosmos is no longer actively maintained, since it has been replaced by a new tool called Maperitive. The new tool is much more flexible and powerful, so the author recommends switching to it.
Maybe we should then switch from Kosmos to Maperitive in this guide as well? But is Maperative still the easiest one, and so on? I'm not familiar enough with rendering issues, but maybe someone more initiated can reformulate the text. --Gnurk 10:33, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
Previously a guide to different renderers
There's a sub-page Beginners Guide 1.5.1 about osmarender which presumably was originally linked from here, and previously this page talked a lot about different render options, before the page was given a "major rewrite" [1]. While I agree with the rewrite, in that the beginners guide shouldn't be going into that much detail on renderers... it does now mean this page is a bit pointless. Noting this here, but see Talk:Beginners' Guide for more general structural discussion. -- Harry Wood (talk) 18:43, 27 July 2013 (UTC)
