Tile Disk Usage says that average tile size is 1 KB, and that the total number of tiles is 91,625,968,981. This translates to over 85 terabytes, but this server only has just about 4 terabytes of disk space. Can someone explain?

Only a fraction of higher zoom level tiles have ever been rendered, as nobody has tried to view them. Alv 10:16, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

Should we change the Tile Server redirect to this page?

I'd like to redirect Tile Server to mod_tile, as I don't think most people are worried about specific hardware when they think of the OSM Tile Server. Jeffmeyer 07:36, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
