Electric powered?
From the photographs on the page, and the wikipedia link it would seem that this tag is proposed to be used for places where electric kick scooters can be rented. If this is the case then can we agree that the default value for this tag is for electric propulsion. --Dmgroom (talk) 16:56, 13 September 2021 (UTC)
- What difference does it make? --Adamant1 (talk) 03:28, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
- It makes a difference from the logic of how access and parking-/rental- and similar objects are handled in other contexts in OSM. Electric Scooters Proposal has made suggestions for distinguishing between different types of vehicles (for example motorised and non-motorised kick-scooters), which I perceive are agreed upon by lots of mappers who deal with this kind of vehicles/objects/topics. The terms used in that proposal are explicitly intended not only as access tags, but also as keywords in combination with other tags (like
*_parking
or*_rental
). So they should also be considered/synchronised when establishing new tags like this one. To draw attention to this, I have added a note of caution in the article.--Supaplex030 (talk) 16:28, 17 November 2021 (UTC)

Minus (dash) character in name is suboptimal
It might need to be possible to specify type or parking options using the key->value ==> key->value recursion, where amenity's value is used as a new key. That would result in using a MINUS in the key's name, like kick-scooter_rental=* which is very unfortunate, maybe even invalid. So I'd recommend using "_" (underline) instead, even if it's semantically not correct. Kempelen (talk) 09:21, 23 May 2022 (UTC)
Namespace instead of a node
Whatever shop or other main node rents anything, you may express it if you use a namespace instead, such as kick_scooter:rental=electric. Especially if the same node rents different things

- The last time I checked amenity and shop tags aren't mutually exclusive. In otherwards, this tag can be used on places that are already tagged as or with shop=*. --Adamant1 (talk) 05:25, 11 March 2023 (UTC)
- If this tags are in actual use they can be mentioned - preferably not as an ugly table Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 16:08, 16 March 2023 (UTC)
- Tables are especially obnoxious on talk pages. It's hard enough to parse through discussions already without adding tables into the mix. So maybe save them for the article next time. Or hell, just skip the tables completely since literally nobody except you likes them. --Adamant1 (talk) 08:15, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
