Minimum too high?

The definition reads: "They usually consist of, at minimum, a petrol station, parking facilities, a place to eat and some public toilets". What if there is no place to eat? What would be the tag then? What do you suggest if there is only a parking and toilets? Aren't these services as well? I agree we could use another tag, but usually you will map the restaurant and petrol station as distinct features inside the services area. Is it really needed to set up such high "minimum" requirements? -- Dieterdreist 12:43, 1 April 2011 (BST)

Usefull combinations

There might be some usefull combinations for the default tagging-scheme. For highway=rest_area we have got toilets=yes/no. I would applicate this to highway=services since there is no exact position known for those things. In many cases the keys telephone, restaurant, acommodation/beds are available on highway=services.

"Service Area" in UK

In the UK, the term "Service Area" appears with a second sense, meaning an area used by service vehicles (e.g. for deliveries). Any idea what the correct tag would be for that? Sjorford (talk) 16:41, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
