Missing line reactor value
After doing some reading I think we might be missing these. They are often just after a transformer on the low side. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Switchyard_reactor I have tagged them as "series reactor", but that seem to be wrong. Gazer75 (talk) 05:27, 11 December 2021 (UTC)
- No problem to add it if relevant. The wikipedia page you linked mixes several kind of reactors, do you have examples showing the precise one you mention to let us know how different it is actually from a series reactor please? Fanfouer (talk) 10:55, 11 December 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry for these terrible urls. Didn't want to make suspicious short urls. Here are some substations that use these just after the transformer.
- Tegneby substation with 3 of them on the 47kV just after the 300/47kV transformers.
- Follo substation with 2 instances, north transformer and right below the 300kV switchgear. Both on the 66kV just after the 420/66kV transformer.
- Hasle substation with 2. Both on the 47kV just after the 420/47kV transformers.
- I don't fully understand how these things work and all the differences, so maybe I mix them up. Gazer75 (talk) 16:35, 11 December 2021 (UTC)
Rating for compensators
The simple rating=* currently used is not enough for SVCs, STATCOMS and variable shunt reactors. They have both a positive and negative var rating. Maybe rating:inductive and rating:capactive could be used? Gazer75 (talk) 10:29, 11 April 2022 (UTC)
- That's good point. I'm not sure for :inductive and :capacitive words. It's sure we should handle both real and reactive ratings in separate fields, for generators and transformers as well.
- Is there any reading you can recommend regarding capacitors figures in first please? Fanfouer (talk) 10:47, 11 April 2022 (UTC)
SVC and STATCOM as area
I would argue that we can use area for these as they contain multiple components making up the compensator; reactors, capacitors, valves and so on. They are often also fenced off inside the substation with a building for the valves. Gazer75 (talk) 20:14, 24 June 2022 (UTC)
