How is antiques defined here?
Should there be another tag for shops selling old wares younger than 100 years, e.g. shop=vintage? --TuukkaH (talk) 19:42, 9 August 2017 (UTC)
- I dont think so. There can be shop = second_hand and i.e. second_hand = furniture --MeastroGlanz (talk) 18:15, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
- I suppose that same argument could be used against shop = antiques: it's just a type of second hand shops. At least a definition would be useful when choosing whether to tag something as antiques or second hand. The hundred year limit is essential in many definitions of antiques. Similarly, I would say vintage shops are qualitatively different from second hand shops. Here's an example regarding vintage clothing: "In contrast to thrift stores that sell both vintage and contemporary used clothing, vintage clothing shops are usually for-profit enterprises, with the market mixed between small chains and independent stores." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vintage_clothing --TuukkaH (talk) 21:56, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
Namespaces
How about creating a namespace like
furniture:sales=yes;used
furniture:repair=yes
furniture:rental=no
furniture:type=kitchen;office;bedroom;bathroom;antiques
(the same for clothes:* and others)
