Recommend clarification

Lots of these are tagged
leisure=pitch
sport=hockey

What's the tagging scheme for this? I'm worried that many of these elements fail to distinctly identify the form of hockey. leisure=pitch or stadium or sports_centre + sport=hockey = what? Mrwojo (talk) 01:16, 26 March 2013 (UTC)

I think the hockey tag needs to be split up. I suggest using sport=ice_hockey for ice hockey and leaving sport=hockey for field hockey, in line with the IOC naming of the sports. Lcmortensen (talk) 01:36, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

I disagree. In North America “hockey” means ice hockey (or street hockey, which is not field hockey). If the tagging is to be clearly disambiguated, then sport=hockey should always be replaced with either ice_hockey or field_hockey.

Yes, whatever the solution is, but it needs to be split up. If there are values for soccer and different forms of football and even different forms of rugby, hockey also deserves to be split. Some people only are interested in one of the forms of it. There are already about 100 uses of sport=ice_hockey in taginfo. Aceman444 (talk) 14:28, 16 July 2014 (UTC)

I think ice_hockey AND field_hockey is the best way to go. hockey is always going to remain disambiguous one way or the other --AndiG88 (talk) 06:13, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
