Talk:Tag:zoo=enclosure

Part of zoo fits this description - maybe make clear that part of zoo should not be tagged as a zoo?

Maybe "do not tag it tourism=zoo in such case" should be explicitly mentioned there and general description should mention using it to tag individual enclosures?

I just edited the page to be more clear. I will be honest, I don't understand why this tag is used for individual enclosures, since attraction=animal covers that just fine. An enclosure is just an attraction=animal with a fence around. Linus W Frische (talk) 23:04, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

I agree that zoo=enclosure should not be used for individial enclosures as it describes the type of a zoo. It is very confusing when a tag has different meanings. The enclosure tags should use a different key than "zoo". There was a discussion not long ago where someone suggested tagging dog park equipment with dog_park=*, but fortunately he was persuaded that this was not a good idea. (I have never mapped a zoo. If there are already too many enclosures tagged with zoo=enclosure it might be too late to clean that up. I don't know) --Hufkratzer (talk) 14:22, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
